Free to Use

The tool is free for everyday image and PDF text extraction. No account or payment details required.

Your Files Stay Yours

Uploaded files are processed once for the result you request, then deleted. We do not store copies.

Use Responsibly

Use the tool for content you have the right to process. Don't use it for unlawful or harmful material.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By visiting or using ImageToText.is, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Description of the Service

ImageToText.is provides browser-based text recognition for images, screenshots, scanned pages, and PDFs. Files are processed to return extracted text and are then deleted from our processing pipeline.

The service is provided free of charge for personal and commercial use, subject to the limits described below.

3. Eligibility & Acceptable Use

You agree to use ImageToText.is only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Upload material you do not have the right to process, including copyrighted documents without permission, content involving minors in sexual contexts, or content that is illegal where you live.
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or probe the service for vulnerabilities.
  • Automate bulk uploads in a way that exceeds reasonable personal use and strains our infrastructure.
  • Use the service to harass, defraud, or mislead others.

We may throttle, block, or filter requests that appear to abuse the service. Repeat abuse can result in your IP address or traffic pattern being restricted.

4. Your Content & Files

You retain ownership of any files you upload and the text you extract. We claim no rights over your content.

Files you upload are processed to return the recognition result, then deleted. We do not use uploaded content to train models, sell to third parties, or build profiles of individual users.

You are responsible for the files you choose to process. Make sure you have the right to extract text from them.

5. Availability & Limits

We strive to keep ImageToText.is running smoothly, but the service is provided "as is". We may change features, add limits, or take the service offline temporarily for maintenance.

Reasonable use limits apply to keep the service available for everyone:

  • Up to 10 files per recognition job.
  • Up to 20 MB per file.
  • Common image formats (JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, TIFF, GIF) and PDF.

We may change these limits without notice to protect the service.

6. Intellectual Property

The ImageToText.is brand, design, code, and written content on this site are owned by us or our licensors. You may link to and reference the site, but please don't copy the design or text wholesale as if it were your own.

Recognition results you extract from your own files are yours to use however you like.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no specific promises about accuracy, uptime, or fitness for a particular purpose. OCR results may contain errors and should be reviewed before being relied on.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, ImageToText.is and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the past twelve months — which, for the free service, is zero.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for major changes, post a notice on the homepage.

Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
